There are lots of surf sup brands out there, and plenty of shapers to back them. At first glance, they all look good, but when you really dig in beneath the shiny surface, you'll begin to see what really makes a board perform. After you watch this video you'll understand why Dave Boehne is known as the leader of the pack. He comes from a deep rooted So. Cal. surf family that has been on the forefront of surf design since the early 70's. His humble , witty, and humorous, approach to life, spills over into his creativity and design. SUP shaper Dave Boehne refers to his latest creation as a “performance easy rider” as this board is as the name implies. Stable (wide) and Fast (speed). Not the most creative name in the world but it gets to the point quick!
We went at designing this shape as to asking the question: “what can we do to make a very stable board offered in some of the most generous sizes we have ever offered and maintain that performance gain that Infinity is know for?”
-Outline:
We started out with a fuller outline having a wider nose and tail which really caters to that extra stability people are always after. With the fuller outline we bumped out the average center widths to keep a nice curve in the rail line. This allows for that smooth flowing style rail transition.
-Rocker:
The over-all rocker is smooth with a specific flat spot for glide over sections but curves up at both ends with a nice nose “kick” for steeper drops and excellerated exit in the tail to keep this board nimble off the tail.
-Bottom Tri-Plane Hull Design:
The bottom is a complex formula of hydrodynamics, rocker, and fin placement all working as one for a truly unique feel under feet. Dave has introduced his first beveled rail design which alleviated pressure from the rail and helps higher volume boards with thicker rails engage and have sensitivity like a thinner rail. This rail angle also leads the water into the full length double concave which provides tons of speed from one side to the other and keeps wider boards exciting. All of this is matched up with a specific fin placement and quad fin spread to keep the board under control.

2023 models now come with a five fin setup, allowing you the versatility to use as a quad or thruster. The center box is a non-adjustable thruster.

The RNB "Round Nose Blurr" is one of our most popular performance surf designs of all time. Perfect blend of performance vs stability and a noticeably FAST board.
This design bridges the gap between a traditional shortboard style outline and wider stubby style shapes. This board allows riders to ride a shorter and narrower board while maintaining similar stability of a board 2-3" wider simply from the design of the outline.
Features a slight single concave and a deeper double between the fins. Very versatile in the small stuff and can mix it up in some juice as well with the 5 fin option.-

The B-Line takes the razor-sharp shredding from the Blurr and borrows stability characteristics from the RNB to make up a fast, explosive, tour level ride.
The nose is slightly wider than the Blurr but still comes to a point. The outline stays linear for added stability and we break that at the fins with a wing for great pivot off the bottom. This wing matched up with the tail rocker and bottom contour re-directs at a moments notice.
The B-Line has a slightly more relaxed rocker in the front end making it very fast down the line and added flip in the tail rocker matched with a speed channel for release when you want it.

Dave Boehne has brought back an original favorite in the BLURR performance surf SUP with the highly anticipated V2.
The BlurrV2 incorporates a new SUPspensionTECH carbon construction to promote flex and work in conjunction with the new step rail design. This board features a single concave, pulled in tail template w/ a wing pin tail taken from the New Deal. This board has lots of pivot off the bottom and seamless carve style ride under the feet.
The new step rail provides hidden volume in the center of the board and takes thickness away from the rails allowing for a low aspect shortboard style rail in the water. This step also creates strength corrugation which we worked on a new SUPspensionTECH construction to promote flex back into the ride.
The BLURRv2 dims sit right in between the RNB and Bline. As you can see, the sizes are not quite as aggressive as the BLine and not as generous as the RNB. The rocker is also not as low as the RNB and not as curved as the BLine, it has more of a moderate traditional rocker which makes for predictable transitions and speed.
